We Care!
Our top priority is to ensure that the young men and women who invest their summer in the lives of Asian students are successful in every way. As a caring parent eager to provide for your son or daughter's best interests, there may be questions or concerns that you have about Camp China.
This web page is provided to address some of the concerns that you may have.
We are Monitoring Current Events
ELIC (English Language Institute/China, parent organization to Camp China) is constantly monitoring world events and how they relate to the countries we serve in Asia. To ensure the complete safety of teachers in all the countries we serve, ELIC is in daily contact with the U.S. State Department as well as all overseas staff. The safety and well-being of our teachers is our primary concern, and we will continue to monitor current events with the utmost attention.
Asian Governments Give Full Support
Governments in the countries we serve have given their full support to ELIC and all North Americans within their boarders. ELIC teachers are invited guests of the China Education Department. All of our visas and contracts are handled through that governmental body. We have worked closely with them for 27 years ensuring the safety, comfort and success of thousands of ELIC teachers.
We're Here to Keep our Teachers Safe
ELIC has been sending teachers to Asia for more than 27 years without incident. Our staff in Asia and North America is dedicated to ensuring the safety of every single one of our teachers. If it were not safe, ELIC would not send teachers to Asia.
In-Country Support
In addition to
a full U.S. support staff serving the hundreds of college students who serve
with us each year, ELIC also maintains field offices in every country we serve
in. The in-country Beijing (China), Hanoi
(Vietnam) and Hong Kong staff will be in contact weekly with each of our Camp
China, Vietnam and Hong Kong teams to make sure everything is going well. In
addition to the field offices, Camp China sends out a team of "Site
Supervisors" so that every Camp China and Vietnam team receives a visit
from an ELIC representative at least once during the five weeks they are in
Asia. Our North American office is in constant communication with our field
offices in case of emergencies or questions.
